My dad got killed on November 8, 2009.
I had dropped out my junior year, I hated my high school, kids wouldn’t stay out of my business and leave me alone.
I went to talk to my old principal there about an alternative for me, so I could graduate with my class in 2011.
Since I had dropped out the first semester of my junior year I had lost my credits for that semester, so I was behind in school.
That was when my principal talked to me about the Ombudsman school out on P hwy. At first I thought it was for troubled kids, but once I went and met with the teachers there, that thought was replaced with, maybe this place could help me catch up and graduate on time.
I was right.
I joined the ombudsmen school the second semester of the year, the teachers there were great and they helped me get caught up as much as possible.
It was really hard to go to school with everything that was going on in my life. My mom got arrested that April, and second semester was almost over with, I wasn’t about to give up since I was so close.
My teachers helped me through everything, and when I needed someone to talk to they were always there. I had the two best teachers in the world.
I decided to go back to the Ombudsman school my senior year. I wanted to graduate for my parents even though they weren’t there to help me.
Going to the Ombudsman school it gave me more one on one with my teachers, they were never too busy to help me if I needed help. They actually sat down and taught me how to do everything I didn’t know how to do.
Ombudsman put me on the right path to succeeding in school. I wish they had an Ombudsman school for college kids, because then I would most definitely go straight to college.
Because of Ombudsman, I got to learn how to be independent, and be more self-respecting of myself.
Since I was determined to graduate for my parents, I went for it and I achieved something for the first time.
